SUNDAY
Check out all of the fun things happening for International
Students this week. Every event is designed to provide you with
helpful information to aid in your transition to Baylor, while also
allowing time to connect with other new students.
For any questions about your
events, reach out to your
Ambassador Group. Family
members are welcome at all
events during Global Bears Week.
This check-in is for any undergraduate students who are
moving into their Residence Halls early on this Sunday.
*In order to move into the Residence Halls early, students
must have registered for early move-in using the My
Housing Portal.

A casual pizza dinner will be provided for any students and
their families who have arrived early.

Start the week by coming to our office to check-in, receive
a gift bag and t-shirt, and meet the Center for Global
Engagement Staff. ALL students are required to check-in
by coming to the office in person.

heading to Walmart to shop for food and supplies. You
must sign up for a spot in advance to attend.
Join all new international students for a celebratory
welcome dinner provided by Baylor catering. Vegan and
vegetarian options will be provided.

All students are assigned an ambassador group, a small
group led by CGE Ambassadors. This group is designed for
you to make new friends and have a resource to get any
questions answered!

your Ambassador groups. If you have a meal plan, you will
be able to swipe in for breakfast. If you do not have a meal
plan, this meal will be paid for by Baylor.

Join your Ambassador group for a tour around campus.
Led by International students, this tour will highlight
specific buildings and resources that you may need. Bring
you course schedule with you to identify where you classes
will be on the first day!

All parents, spouses and other family members are invited
to join us for this family reception hosted by Dr. Mark
Bryant, Director of ISSS. This is a chance to enjoy
refreshments, meet other families, and be encouraged by
ISSS staff members.
GRADUATE STUDENT ORIENTATION

HURD WELCOME CENTER
This orientation is hosted by Baylor Graduate School
and is for ALL new graduate students, international
and domestic students. Attend this orientation for
important information .
Learn about different ways to get involved this semester,
as well as the various events created specifically for
International Students. Also, learn about Baylor sports and
how to get student tickets to sporting events!

Led by Debra Wainscott from the International Student
Academic Support Office, this session will provide you with
helpful tips and advice for entering the US classroom.
Come listen to a panel of experts from the Graduate School
including faculty, current students, and administrators on
how to navigate the many responsibilities of being a
graduate student.
Enjoy dinner while getting to hear from a panel of
Ambassadors about their experiences adjusting to the US<
understanding US culture, and finding a home here at
Baylor.

office about how to use your Baylor student
insurance, what it covers, and what it doesn’t.
Are you ready to start working? Need help finding a
job? Want to ask some questions before you start
applying? Student Employment is coming to
answer your questions and help you start the
process of getting employed on campus.
