management of events in public, private and third sector contexts.

is certicate covers the administration of events, the selling and
marketing of conventions and conferences, and the organization and
administration of mega-events. With a strong focus on hospitality
and tourism, the certicate incorporates a number of perspectives,
with event legacies being a particularly pertinent issue for all
coursework. Students learn to synthesize theory and application at
the graduate level in order to produce the knowledge base necessary
to fully utilize available techniques and strategies for the eective
organization, marketing, and management of events, conventions,
and conferences.

Each Graduate Certicate is comprised of three required
courses, nine credit hours in total. ese credits from the
graduate certicate can be transferred toward our Master of
Science in Hospitality and Tourism Management degree.
(1) individuals who have previously completed bachelor’s,
masters, or doctoral degrees, and (2) students currently
admitted to our graduate degree programs are eligible to enroll
in certicate programs.
ere is no specic course sequence in that a number of sections
of each course are available throughout the year. One course,
and sometimes more, are oered each term.
