What events does the Biennale of Sydney hold separate to the free exhibition?
The Biennale of Sydney holds specific events separate to the free exhibition as part of their
annual program across all sites. The main event is the exhibition, which is free.
The Biennale programming also includes a selection of free to reserve and paid events. These
include artist talks, workshops, live music and performances available via the
Biennale of Sydney
website.

How will can I travel to White Bay Power Station?
The best way to get to White Bay Power Station is via public transport. There is no on-site parking
available.
Transport for NSW is providing a Special Event Bus service during Biennale opening hours. This
dedicated 443 special event bus service will be direct from Stand B at the QVB on York Street to
the forecourt of White Bay Power Station.
Route 443 event bus operating times:
Weekdays Tue - Fri: Buses will run approximately every 10 to 15 minutes from 10.30am to
7pm, and on Wednesdays buses will run until 10pm.
Saturdays: Buses will run every 15 minutes from 10.30am to 6.30pm.
Sundays and all days of the Easter Long weekend (Good Friday Easter Monday): Buses
will run every 15 minutes from 10.30am to 6.30pm.
The regular 441 and 442 bus services will still operate as usual and make stops on Robert Street
outside the venue. Other regular bus and ferry services will still operate providing transport
options for people across Sydney.
Vintage buses
Every Saturday and Sunday during the Biennale, vintage buses will operate on the route 443
special event service between QVB (Stand B, York St) and White Bay Power Station.
Vintage buses will run every half hour from the QVB, starting at 10.20am, with the final round trip
leaving at 7.50pm. See the full timetable at the Sydney Bus Museum website.
These buses are very popular, so if you plan to catch one, please leave plenty of extra travel time
as long queues are expected. You can also catch the regular route 443 buses leaving more
frequently from the same stop at QVB.
The vintage buses are free, or you can provide an electronic donation.
Is there a cost for the 443 special event bus service?
Normal public transport fares apply.
Is there a pathway through Rozelle Parklands?
Transport for NSW has begun the next stage of reopening Rozelle Parklands. From the afternoon
of Thursday 28 March, shared user paths from Rozelle Pay light rail stop to the Victoria Rd Bridge
underpass will reopen to the public, including the Green Link Bridge.
Is there parking at White Bay Power Station?
There is no parking other than two disability parking spaces at White Bay Power Station. This
parking is available on a first in, first served basis.
All visitors are encouraged to use public transport, and there are a number of bus stops in close
proximity to White Bay Power Station.
Drop-off areas are allocated for buses and rideshare services. Taxis will pick up and drop off
outside the venue on opening night only. Visitors with accessibility needs can use the pick-up and
drop off areas.
Will there be a ferry?
Balmain East Wharf is located 2.6 km away from the site. The wharf is serviced by a ferry route
from Circular Quay or Parramatta. Once at the Wharf, there is a bus stop on Darling Street
serviced by the 442 service which runs every 10 minutes both on weekdays and weekends. The
442 service stops at the venue on Robert Street.
Is White Bay Power Station accessible by bike?
White Bay Power Station is surrounded by on-road and off-road bike routes that can connect you
to the broader network.
There are some bike rack facilities available.

Is there wheelchair access at White Bay Power Station?
White Bay Power Station is wheelchair accessible with a lift to travel between floors of the
Turbine Hall. Wheelchairs are available to book at White Bay Power Station. To book, please email

Is there a parents’ room at White Bay Power Station?

The Biennale of Sydney is for everyone. There are a range of programs that are suitable for

Are pets allowed at White Bay Power Station?
The venue is not set up for pets at this stage, however, a person with a disability can be
accompanied by an assistance animal.
Is there food and drink available at the Biennale of Sydney?
There will be two food trucks on opening weekend on Saturday 9 March and Sunday 10 March.
After that, light food, coffee and drinks will be served by local business, The Little Marionette in
the Boiler House, on the first floor of the building. This will be open for the duration of the
Biennale.
Refreshments are also available at the bar, next to the café. The bar will be open the same hours
as the Biennale, serving beer, wine and spirits, mixed drinks, non-alcoholic drinks and snacks.
Are there conditions of entry to the Biennale of Sydney at White Bay Power Station?
White Bay Power Station is a heritage site. Please be mindful of uneven ground, low clearances
and unfinished surfaces.
First Nations people are respectfully advised that the exhibition includes works, names, voices,
and images of deceased people. This includes cultural practices and artistic intellectual property
of a sensitive nature.
By entering the exhibition, you consent to interview(s), photography, audio recording, video
recording and its/their use for promotional, or any other purpose by Biennale of Sydney. Images,
photos and/or videos may be used to promote similar Biennale of Sydney events in the future and
highlight the event.
The exhibition includes explicit content such as images and text that may be confronting,
including stylised images of genitalia and coarse language. It also contains projections with
sound and strobing in darkened spaces.
Please note there are to be:
No external alcoholic beverages to be bought into the venue
There is no cloak room
No smoking including the use of e-cigarettes
No bicycles, scooters, skateboards or skates bought into the venue
No drones or other remote-controlled devices
Patrons are responsible for their own personal possessions and must not leave bags or
possessions unattended at any time
No pets bought into the venue, however assistance animals for people with disability are
permitted.
No unauthorised photography or filming.
