The Marine Hotel, Troon, is situated on the stunning Ayshire coastline, overlooking the 18th hole of
the Royal Troon Golf Course,. The hotel offers views of the Isle of Arran also known as “Scotland in
miniature”. It is great starting point for visiting this beautiful historic area of Scotland.
The Iconic building first opened in 1897 by the Duchess of Portland, the foundation stone was laid
by her husband on March 23rd 1894, The Duke of Portland, whose family where responsible for
opening the railway line, initially used to take goods from the harbour to Kilmarnock. In 1912 the
hotel obtained its 4 star rating and is the only hotel in Scotland to have retained the same star
rating to this day.
