Black Cemetery Preservation in Tennessee by Rogetta Armstrong
https://www.afrigeneas.com/forum-cemeteries/index.cgi/md/read/id/1416/sbj/black-
cemetery-preservation-in-tennessee/
On October 7, 2004, Sheriff David Andrews of Putnam County, sent Deputy John Nash,
and a crew of low risk detainees, to clean up Rock Hill cemetery, a totally Black
cemetery in Silver Point, TN. Some of the slate markers are more than 200 years old,
and many of my ancestors rest there, including my grandparents. My grandmother (1881
-1962), was the last person buried there. My elderly mother (78) cried, and watched in
awe, as they worked. Tennessee is an exceptional state.
